``FULL NAME Kyler Grey Sinn
``NICKNAMES
``AGE seventeen
``GENDER female
``SPECIES possessor
``POWERS Kyler has the ability to control energy, particularly an affinity for electricity. She absorbs energy, in any form, and uses it for whatever she needs to use it for. There are both advantages and disadvantages to her power. She can absorb energy at will, if she needs to use it at a particular time. But if she doesn't pay attention, she may accidentally absorb energy around her, which can turn out badly depending on what energy she took and what it was being used for. And if Kyler takes in too much energy too quickly, she will lose all control of it.
There are many things she can do with the energy she takes in. Her body can use it in order to function, treating it like food. In this way, she can go longer periods without food than an ordinary person could, though this method wouldn't necessarily be as healthy for her. She can manipulate her body temperature, and, to an extent, the temperature around her. Kyler can also create bursts of energy (typically in the form of electricity) as a defense or attack method. She can manipulate the energy in basically any way she wants, but the more she does, and the longer the time she is really using her powers, the harder it is for her to control them. And if there are little or no immediate energy sources around her, she runs a high risk of becoming extremely exhausted and harming herself.

``PERSONALITY
Kyler is a quiet, intelligent girl. She's always done well academically, excelling in all classes. She's very smart, and confident, but not arrogant. She doesn't flaunt her intelligence, rather just succeeding quietly. Kyler is friendly, but reserved. She's a conservative person; confident, yes, but she has trust issues and so far hasn't found anyone she really connects with. She doesn't say it, but she is lonely, and is just looking for someone who understands her. When she does find a good friend in someone, she's fun to be around and incredibly loyal, honest, caring, and anything else you could look for in a friend.
Kyler has a certain fondness for her powers, despite lacking experience in controlling them, and the problems they tend to cause.

how to live like i do
----------------------------------------------------------
``HISTORY
Kyler was born in America, in a small town in Wisconsin. She lived a fairly normal life, doted on by her parents but not really spoiled. When she was four, she and her parents moved to Germany to live near her mother's father, as he was sick and needed to be cared for. Kyler spent a lot of time playing by herself, just trying to get used to the changes. Two months later she turned five, another two months and she was starting school. Her parents had made it a point to teach her German, even before they had moved, so language wasn't a problem. Still, she didn't quite fit in and she kept to herself. Kyler also started getting serious migraines around that time. Her mother did all she could to figure out why, but her now very close to death father was a bit of a distraction, and little was done. Her father was never around, having to work all the time to support the four of them. So, Kyler dealt with the discomfort and pain.
Within the following year, her grandfather died, she moved back to the US, and then weird things began to happen. No one knew what was going on, but each of the three of them had a different opinion of the issue. The first thing they noticed was Kyler's exhaustion. She spent most of the time this way, for reasons no one was aware of. She only brightened up when there was an electrical storm occurring nearby, or when around a large fire or some other big enough heat source. They didn't understand why, but all three of them understood that it happened.
Another instance occurred a few weeks before her sixth birthday. She was particularly worn down and tired, but her mindset was all about excitement. A large electrical storm was expected to be on the way that night, and Kyler couldn't wait. When the first cracks of lightning showed up, Kyler sat by a window and watched. As the storm grew closer, she decided she wanted to a better look, and went to the door. Her mother saw what she was doing just before she did; she tried to stop her daughter, but the tired girl beat her out the door. It didn't happen right away, but with all the static electricity in the air, Kyler did feel a little better. Then as her mom was running towards her, intent on bringing her safely back into the house, Kyler was struck by the lightning. Her mom was far enough away that she could feel the heat and static, but not be injured. She screamed and looked helplessly on, sure her daughter would not survive.
However, to everyone's surprise, Kyler was perfectly fine. Not a single thing had changed, save for the incredible energy and liveliness the girl now had. She ran around, laughing and watching the lightning, not sure why her mom was crying. Her mom took Kyler in her arms and hugged her close, not willing to let go despite Kyler's wriggling. She took her inside, much to Kyler's dismay, and explained to Kyler's father, who hardly believed a word. The only proof was the girl's boundless energy and her mom's tears, and to him, that was hardly enough evidence, even knowing about Kyler's exhaustion issues.
The manifestation of her powers would only continue to progress as time passed. When she was angry, she noticed very obvious changes in her levels of energy, and once had even managed to expel some of the energy in a small ball of electricity. She wasn't sure how she did, but there was no mistaking she had. There was a hole in her closet door to prove it. Her parents became even more aware of these powers then. This is where their differentiated opinions came in. Her mother was worried about her. She was nervous and scared of these abilities, but more concerned for how it was affected her daughter than anything. Kyler's father was a different story. The displays so far had unnerved him, and he began to consider his daughter a freak, a weirdo who didn't belong. Kyler, besides the overly-concerned reaction from her mother, and the hateful reaction from her father, grew to like what was happening to her. She was fascinated by these powers, even though her father wanted nothing more to do with her.
He treated her very poorly, at least when he was even acknowledging her existence. The psychological effect this had on Kyler was severe, but she kept everything to herself. This was where that aspect of her personality grew even more, making her more of a loner. This is also when her trust issues really started to develop.
Kyler grew up this way, her father never changing his perspective of her and her mother even more worried about Kyler's well-being. After all, if her father treats her so badly, how would the rest of the world act if they found out? She tried her best to shelter Kyler, but Kyler didn't like that. She was a loner already, she didn't want to her mom to get involved. Eventually, her mother's constant watch saved her life. Particularly depressed and in despair, Kyler tried to kill herself. She was ready to try a few methods, starting with overdosing and, as her father was a hunter, going to his gun if the drugs didn't work. Her mother found out about her plans and put a stop to it before Kyler could do any damage. Kyler never tried again after that, ashamed she was even going to.
Kyler managed to keep her powers a secret as she grew up, or so she thought. Just before she started her junior year in high school, she was invited to Blackthorne Academy. She wasn't sure how anyone knew about her, but obviously someone did. Her father made sure she was going, he would do anything he could to get her out of his life. She left, and is hopeful of a new life. [/blockquote]
if it wasn't for you
----------------------------------------------------------
The skies had begun darkening as the sun made its way toward the distant horizon. Dusk would settle, and the night would only continue to creep into blackness. For now, there were only a few erratic rays of grey light in the growing darkness, and Vladimir was content with that. Those very limited rays were diminishing more with every second, and so they posed little threat against his well-being. He would be able to avoid them while they lasted. Besides, he had other insurance on the matter...
The dark figure made his way onto the sand. He'd nothing else to do, so Vlad had felt like going somewhere and sitting around. Seattle's beaches had seemed like a plausible idea, and now here he was. He walked rather slowly, feeling no need to rush. A long, black trench coat draped his body, the bottom swaying lightly near his feet, which wore black Converse. A dark-coloured fedora draped his head, and black hair fell over part of his face. His hands were tucked into the coat's deep pockets.
His head was down, he wasn't looking for sights here. He just wanted to get away, from everything, at least for the moment. But he slowed when two very distinct scents reached him.
I'm not alone, then. That's fine, a 'wolf and a couple of humans couldn't be much trouble.
He turned towards the two scents, which, in comparison to his location, were in roughly the same direction. He found the wolf, down near the water, and farther from him then the humans, who he found behind some foliage. The two of them likely thought they were alone, but they were dangerously wrong.
He could smell the blood that coursed through their veins, and though it was a bit diluted by alcohol they had likely consumed not long before, it was still sweet and it beckoned his senses.
He drew slightly closer, losing interest in the lupine creature for the moment. Vladimir hadn't fed for two or three days now, and here sat a meal just waiting to happen.
He moved closer to the couple, not caring if they'd be able to see him. They no longer had a chance for escape, even if they started running then, it would be all too easy for him to catch them. The only thing that could delay his hunt would be the wolf from moments ago, the one his senses had momentarily let go of. But Vlad would not let even that creature to get between him and a decent meal.
Now, he was just in front of the bush that sadly attempted to mask the mortals. His deep purple eyes watched as the female noticed him. She took a minute to register the threatening shadow that loomed over them, and by the time she had managed to scream, Vladimir's strong hand had taken hold of the man, who had been facing the other way. Vlad pulled on his hair, forcing him to stand. He was disappointed he could not yet see the human's face, not see the terror that would mask his features, but his girlfriend's expressions would have to do. She was frozen in fear, her mouth gaping as the dark figure pulled her boyfriend closer and closer to death.
Once the man was standing, he began to struggle in an attempt at freedom, his initial terror seeming to diminish a bit. And he did try to struggle, despite his previous drunken stupor. His hands tried to pry his hair from Vlad's grip, to no avail. Vladimir pulled him closer, then yanked his head back to expose the man's neck more. Without hesitating, he lowered his own head and let his fangs find their way into the human's jugular. He felt the silky liquid roll over his tongue, down his throat. And with the more blood Vlad took, the less the human struggled and the heavier his body got. And after several more moments, the man's life had been completely sucked from him.
Vlad dropped the limp body, and lifted an arm to his mouth. He ran his and along his lower lip, wiping away any blood left there. Then he looked up towards the girl, who had already begun her 'escape'. Vlad began to move towards her, though not yet trying to catch up. He'd have time enough.
